Advanced Beginning French Classes

Advanced Beginner classes are offered on Wednesday evenings, from 6:00-8:00 pm. Fall 2017 classes are September 13 to November 15.

At the end of the Spring session of Advanced Beginner French, students should be able to understand isolated phrases and common expressions that relate to areas of high personal relevance (like personal or family information, shopping, immediate environment, work); communicate during easy or habitual tasks requiring a basic and direct information exchange on familiar subjects; describe their surroundings; and communicate immediate needs.

Advanced Beginner classes correspond to the Common European Framework of

Reference for Languages (CEFRL) level A2. Not sure if you are an Advanced Beginner? Take a placement test here.

The text required for the class is Alter Ego 2: Methode de Francais by Annie Berthet. Students may also want to purchase Alter EGO Plus: Cahier d’Activites + CD Audio A2 (French Edition). Supplementary materials supplied by the instructor may be used in class.
